Where to try Vologda cuisine?

The cafe "Rodnoye" – a café serving local northern food – is located in the historic centre of the city. Here, great care is taken with the traditions of the Russian North, and every effort is made to preserve and celebrate them.

At the café, you can try traditional dishes of Vologda cuisine, prepared using local, seasonal, farm-fresh ingredients. Here, hearty dishes come to the table made with genuine Vologda products: cheese, spelt, mushrooms, Vologda sour cream, northern berries, and butter.

For dessert, you can enjoy handmade sweets, traditional painted spicy biscuits served with aromatic Ivan-chay (fireweed tea), as well as sample burfiki and Vologda oils – flaxseed, sesame, and milk thistle – served with crusty bread.
