Merchant Pozdeev's Estate
Merchant Pozdeev's Estate
The Merchant Pozdeev's Estate is a cultural heritage site of federal significance. This two-story historic mansion, built in the 1870s, represents a fine example of wealthy merchant houses in provincial architecture of the late 19th century.
One of the most beautiful buildings in Ustyuzhna, it also plays an important urban planning role, marking the corner of the block and contributing to the formation of Cathedral Square.
The building has undergone some modifications, particularly the sealing of the ground floor entrance on the chamfered corner. Evidence of its former existence can be seen in a photograph preserved at the local history museum, as well as remnants of the porch and niche where the doorway once stood. The interior layout has been partially altered.
Currently, this architectural monument houses the administration of Ustyuzhna Municipal District.
