Time travel: Vologda retro airport invites guests

Soviet-era atmosphere

Upon entering the terminal, passengers are greeted by an interior carefully restored to reflect details of Soviet design. Wooden finishes, marble floors and stained glass windows create an authentic atmosphere of the past.

On one of the facades of the building you can observe the carefully restored original mosaic "Hospitable Vologda". Created in 1991 by artists Bronislav Kurago and Viktor Sysoev from 90 thousand pieces of smalt, it once again attracts admiring glances.

Retro-style entertainment and amenities

On the second floor of the terminal there are "Battleship" and "Hockey" slot machines available for free play, which will please both adults and children. The buffet serves classic Soviet cuisine: sandwiches with sprats, Olivier salad, Buratino lemonade and sodas from a vending machine. Telephone booths with different types of pay phones allow you to plunge into the atmosphere of the past years.

Exhibits and photo zones

The main attraction of the terminal was the flagship of civil aviation - the Yak-40 airplane, a model of which is installed inside the building.

For photo lovers there are themed photo zones with Soviet paraphernalia, where you can take memorable pictures.

The renovated Vologda Airport is not just a transportation hub, but also a cultural attraction offering a unique experience of immersion in history.
